Tubi TV Streams Tenamonya Voyagers, ItaKiss Anime

Also: Harlock: Space Pirate, multiple Funimation titles

Video streaming service Tubi TV is now streaming the Tenamonya Voyagers original video anime (OVA), ItaKiss (Itazura na Kiss) television anime, and Harlock Space Pirate anime film in Japanese with English subtitles.

Tenamonya Voyagers debuted in Japan in 1999. Bandai Entertainment released the series on DVD in 2000 as the first anime to get a DVD release in the United States without also getting a VHS release. The company described the story:

Ayako, a new teacher, and Wakana, a student, both have to return home to Earth after their school goes bankrupt. They meet up with an unusual girl named Paraila and decide to make the journey together. However, Paraila is no ordinary girl -- she's a boss in the international crime syndicate known as the Jaokai. Or rather, a former boss... With both the police and the syndicate after her, Paraila continues her mad dash for Earth --dragging along poor Ayako and Wakana, who are now considered her accomplices.

Ryoe Tsukimura (El Hazard) wrote the original story and Akiyuki Simbo (Bakemonogatari, Puella Magi Madoka Magica) directed the four-episode series. Masashi Ishihama (From the New World director) designed the characters.

The 25-episode ItaKiss series based on Kaoru Tada's classic unfinished shōjo manga originally aired in 2008. Discotek Media released the anime on DVD in 2014.

In the romantic comedy, a high school girl named Kotoko finally tells a fellow senior named Naoki that she has loved him from afar since she saw him on their first day of high school. However, Naoki, a haughty "super-ikemen" (handsome male) with smarts and sports talent, rejects her offhand. Fate intervenes when a mild earthquake ruins Kotoko's family house. While the house gets rebuilt, Kotoko and her dad stay at the home of her dad's childhood friend...whose son is Naoki.

The story follows Naoki and Kotoko through high school and beyond, but the manga is unfinished because Tada passed away in an accident in 1999. The popular manga has more than 30 million copies in print. The story was previously adapted into a television drama series in Japan in 1996, two drama series in Taiwan under the name It Started with a Kiss in 2005 and 2007, a 2008 stage play, a drama series in South Korea in 2010, and a new Japanese television drama series in 2013.

Shinji Aramaki's Harlock Space Pirate CG film adapted Leiji Matsumoto's classic Captain Harlock manga with Toei Animation's highest production budget ever at the equivalent of more than 30 million U.S. dollars. The film won the best international animated feature award at the fifth annual 3D Create Arts Awards in 2014.

Ketchup Entertainment released the film on DVD, Digital HD, and Video on Demand in 2015. Netflix is streaming the movie with Japanese, English, and Spanish audio.
