SEGA began streaming a promotional video for its Toaru Majutsu no Virtual-On (A Certain Magical Virtual-On) game for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on Wednesday. Virtuaroids will have a fourth weapon in the game, as opposed to the three present in previous Virtual-On installments. The fourth weapon will depend on the pilot riding the Virtuaroid, with the robot serving to enhance the character's abilities and offer new attacks. In addition, the game will have various stages for battle, including a university city stage.

As the title indicates, the game is a collaboration between Kazuma Kamachi's A Certain Magical Index light novel series and Sega's Virtual-On video game franchise. Sega and Dengeki Bunko announced the game and began streaming a teaser video in March.
