The staff of Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Takarajima (Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Treasure Island), the Doraemon franchise's 38th film, revealed four additional cast members for the film last week. The new cast members include:

Daiki Yamashita as Flock, a boy who knows the secret of Treasure Island. He worked as a mechanic aboard a pirate ship. He joins up with Doraemon and the others in order to rescue his sister Sarah, who he left on the pirate ship.

Fumiko Orikasa as Sarah, Flock's sister who looks just like Shizuka. She works as the cook in the pirate ship.

Ryûzaburô Ôtomo as GAGA, a pirate on Captain Silver's ship, and husband to Vivi. While Vivi is a lot smarter than he is, GAGA is an expert at wielding guns.

Saori Hayami as Vivi, a pirate on Captain Silver's ship, and wife to GAGA. The crew look up to her as a reliable older sister, and she is an expert at wielding swords.

The film opens in Japan on March 3.

Yō Ōizumi will guest star in the film as Captain Silver, the captain of the pirate ship that attacks Nobita and the others, and who holds the key to the treasure hidden on Treasure Island.

In the film's story, Doraemon, Nobita, Shizuka, Gian, and Suneo set out on an adventure in the Caribbean Sea. Nobita is the captain of a ship and fights his enemies on board. Shizuka gets kidnapped, and a storm impedes their journey. Mini-Dora robots help Nobita and friends on their journey. When the adventurers finally find the mysterious Treasure Island, they discover it is more than just an ordinary island.

Kazuaki Imai, an episode director on the Doraemon television anime, is directing the project as his first Doraemon franchise film. Novelist Genki Kawamura (your name., The Boy and The Beast producer) is penning the script. Gen Hoshino will perform the film's insert song "Koko ni Inai Anata e," and will also perform the theme song.

Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Nankyoku Kachi Kochi Daibōken (Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kachi Kochi), the 37th anime film in the Doraemon franchise, has earned more than 4.14 billion yen (about US$38.2 million). The film is the highest-grossing anime in the current 12-installment Doraemon film series that began with the 2006 film Doraemon: Nobita no Kyōryū. The 2017 film opened in Japan on March 4.
