posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
This year's sixth issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine published the final chapter of Takuma Yokota's Shudan! soccer manga on Thursday. Shueisha will publish the manga's third volume on February 2, and will publish the fourth and final volume on March 2.
The magazine had announced in November that the manga entered the "climax" of its elementary school student arc on November 20.
The manga tells the story of a young man growing up into adulthood in the "soccer kingdom" of Shizuoka. Yokota launched the series in the 28th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on June 12. Shueisha published the first compiled volume of the manga in Japan on November 2, and published the second volume on Thursday.
Viz Media published the first three chapters in English simultaneously with their Japanese release as part of the company's "Jump Start" initiative.
Yokota launched the 10-volume Straighten Up! Welcome to Shika High's Competitive Dance Club (Sesuji wo Pin! to - Shikakō Kyōgi Dance-bu e Yōkoso) ballroom dancing manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2015, and ended the series in February. Viz Media's digital version of Weekly Shonen Jump previewed the first three chapters in English.
