Happiness Drops! Spinoff Puzzle Game Launches on Steam

Spinoff of Windmill's Happiness! visual novel launched on December 26

ARES Inc. released its Happiness Drops! spinoff puzzle game on PC via Steam on December 26. The game is a spinoff of Windmill's Happiness! visual novel game, and features matching puzzle gameplay where players attempt to match sets of three blocks to clear them while more blocks appear. Players are able to choose familiar characters from the story, each of whom has an ability that allows them to alter the game.

The game features a Story mode, an Endless mode where players continuously fight against opponents, and a Versus mode for competing against other players.

Windmill's Happiness! visual novel shipped in 2005 for the PC, and inspired a 12-episode television anime of the same name in 2006. The series revolves around the students at Mizuhosaka Academy, which keeps classes for magic users and non-magic users separate. A gas explosion on Valentine's Day forces the school to integrate classes, and mages-in-training Haruhi and Anri are transferred into a normal class with Yuma and his friends Hachisuke and Jun.

Crunchyroll streamed the series in 2009, and Maiden Japan released the series on DVD in 2014.
