Omamori Himari's Milan Matra Launches Black Sister Insomnia Manga

Manga centers on protagonist writing light novel about "sleeplessness syndrome" urban legend

Manga creator Milan Matra launched a new manga series titled Black Sister Insomnia in the February issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Dragon Age magazine on Tuesday. The magazine's official Twitter account posted a photo of the manga's color opening page.

The new manga centers on an aspiring light novel writer who is writing a novel based on an urban legend regarding a "sleeplessness syndrome" that allows people to function normally even without sleep. An incident occurs that awakens a hidden power among those who have the syndrome.

The fifth and final compiled book volume of Matra's Demonizer Zilch hinted last November that Matra will launch a new project. Matra launched Demonizer Zilch in Dragon Age in 2014, and ended it last September. Yen Press published the manga's fourth volume on November 14.

Matra's Omamori Himari manga launched in Dragon Age in 2006, and it ended in September 2013. The story inspired a television anime series in 2010. Yen Press released all 12 volumes of the manga in North America. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and Funimation released the series on DVD in 2016.
