Uchida joins cast as Sylph

This year's 11th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Saturday that Aya Uchida will join the cast of the television anime adaptation of Yūki Tabata's Black Clover manga. Uchida joins the cast as Sylph/Bell, a spirit of wind who serves as Yuno's ally. Sylph will debut in the anime in the 19th episode on February 13.

The anime premiered in Japan last October. Crunchyroll is streaming the series in Japanese with English subtitles and Funimation is streaming the show's English dub. The anime's website lists the anime for a full year with 51 episodes.

The anime debuted new opening and ending theme songs with the show's 14th episode on January 9. The five-member BiSH, a self-described "punk band without instruments," are performing the new opening song "PAiNT it BLACK," while SWANKY DANK, a four-member pop punk band from Tokyo, are performing the new ending theme song "Amazing Dreams."

Crunchyroll describes the story:
In a world where magic is everything, Asta and Yuno are both found abandoned at a church on the same day. While Yuno is gifted with exceptional magical powers, Asta is the only one in this world without any. At the age of fifteen, both receive grimoires, magic books that amplify their holder's magic. Asta's is a rare Grimoire of Anti-Magic that negates and repels his opponent's spells. Being opposite but good rivals, Yuno and Asta are ready for the hardest of challenges to achieve their common dream: to be the Wizard King. Giving up is never an option!

Tatsuya Yoshihara (Monster Musume, Yatterman Night, Muromi-san, Long Riders!) is directing the anime at Studio Pierrot. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Is the order a rabbit?, Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, Yatterman Night) is handling the series composition. Itsuko Takeda (Ristorante Paradiso, Level E, Blue Drop) is the character designer and Kumiko Tokunaga (2nd season of Kingdom) is the sub-character designer. Kosei Takahashi (key animation for Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Monster Hunter Stories RIDE ON) is the prop designer, Aiko Shinohara (Fairy Tail, The Heroic Legend of Arslan) is handling the color design, and Minako Seki (The Silver Guardian, both seasons of Kingdom) is composing the music.
