Funimation Lists Home Video Release for Live-Action Parasyte Films

FUNimation Entertainment is listing a Blu-ray Disc and DVD combo pack release for both live-action Parasyte films. The English-subtitled release is slated for May 8.
Funimation did not announce a license for the film, but Montreal's Fantasia International Film Festival listed Funimation as the distributor when it screened the film in 2016.
The first Parasyte movie premiered in November 2014 in Japan, and the sequel in April 2015. Shōta Sometani (live-action xxxHOLiC, All Esper Dayo!) stars in the films as Shinichi Izumi, Eri Fukatsu (Onnanoko Monogatari) plays Ryōko Tamiya, and Ai Hashimoto (Blood-C: The Last Dark, live-action Another, Sadako 3D) plays Satomi Murano.
The films adapt Hitoshi Iwaaki's original manga serialized in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine from 1990-1995. The manga takes place in a world where alien beings called Parasites come to Earth and start taking over humans by entering in through their noses and ears and attaching themselves to their brains. One alien called Migi is only able to take over high school student Shinichi Izumi's right arm, and is unable to control Shinichi completely. Migi and Shinichi learn to co-exist, and the two battle other Parasites who see humans only as food.
