posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Single debuted on February 14, ranked daily at #3, #2, #1 throughout week

The official Twitter account for the Uta no Prince-sama franchise revealed on Monday that the franchise's "Ultra Blast" single ranked #1 in Oricon's daily single chart on Sunday. It sold 7,626 copies on Sunday to cap its weekly total at 114,359. It eventually ranked #2 for the week, under Hey! Say! JUMP's "Maeomuke" (244,765 copies).

The single shipped on February 14. It ranked #3 on February 13, a day before its release, and ranked #2 from February 14-17, before finally ranking #1 on February 18. The in-story idol group ST☆RISH performs the songs in the single, and the single's title song will appear as an insert song in the Uta no Prince Sama Maji Love Kingdom film in 2019.

The Uta no Prince-sama franchise began as a romance visual novel series by Broccoli and Nippon Ichi Software, with the first game in the series released on the PlayStation Portable in 2010. The franchise has inspired four anime seasons.

Game developer KLab (Love Live! School idol festival) released the global version of its Uta no Prince-sama♪ Shining Live smartphone game in January.
