Uma Musume Pretty Derby Anime Reveals Cast, Theme Song, Visual

Kōji Okino, Megumi Toyoguchi play trainers, 7 main voice actresses sing theme songs

The official website for the anime part of Cygames' Uma Musume Pretty Derby project updated on Sunday to confirm the cast, and also revealed the theme songs, the first commercial, and a new visual.

The cast stars:

Azumi Waki as Special Week

Marika Kōno as Silence Suzuka

Machico as Tōkai Teiō

Ayaka Ohashi as Vodka

Chisa Kimura as Daiwa Scarlet

Hitomi Ueda as Gold Ship

Saori Ōnishi as Mejiro McQueen

Yukiyo Fujii as Tazuna Hayakawa (not pictured)

Kōji Okino as Trainer

Megumi Toyoguchi as Hana Tōjō, trainer of the Training Center Gakuen's strongest team

The cast members above (except for Okino and Toyoguchi) are also voicing their roles in the project's game.

The main seven Uma Musume characters are singing the opening theme "Make Debut" and the ending theme "Grow Up Shine!"

The website also updated with the anime's first commercial. The commercial features the opening theme song.

The new key visual features Special Week, Silence Suzuka, and Tōkai Teiō:

The anime will premiere with a one-hour special in April on Tokyo MX, Kansai TV, Saga TV, BS11, and Abema TV. The Toho animation booth at Anime Japan will host a talk show with the cast and a mini live concert for the opening theme song on March 25. On the same day, Tokyo's Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills theater will host an advance screenings with the cast (except for Fujii and Toyoguchi). The project and Kadokawa's horse-racing magazine Sarabure are collaborating on the free booklet Sarabure Uma Museum Edition, which some Animate, Gamers, Sofmap, and Toranoana stores will start distributing on February 28:

Kei Oikawa (This Art Club Has a Problem!, Outbreak Company, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO!) is directing the anime at P.A. Works. Yousuke Kabashima (D.Gray-man Hallow, Lord Marksman and Vanadis) is the character designer and chief animation director. Masafumi Sugiura (aka Pierre Sugiura, Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru scripts) and Cygames' Akihiro Ishihara are both writing and overseeing the series scripts. UTAMARO movement is composing the music at Lantis.

The video game version of the project currently has 59 cast members, including many not yet confirmed for the anime:

The game is currently in development, with a planned release on iOS and Android in 2018. The game's concept begins with Uma Musume (Horse Girls), girls endowed with excellent running capability, and who aim to become top idols and compete in the national sports entertainment show "Twinkle Series." Players take the role of both teacher and trainer for the girls in the Nihon Uma Musume Training Center Gakuen (Japan Horse Girls Training Center Academy) and help them make their debut.
