Satoko Kiyuduki's Shoulder-a-Coffin Kuro Manga Ends on May 9

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Manga about tomboy who goes on journey to find companions launched in 2006

The official website for Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara magazine is listing that the magazine's June issue will publish the final chapter of Satoko Kiyuduki's Shoulder a Coffin, Kuro (Hitsugi Katsugi no Kuro. - Kaichū Tabi no Wa) manga on May 9. The manga will adorn the cover of the June issue, and the final chapter will include a color page.

The magazine had teased in January 2017 that the manga's story was "finally at its climax."

The story follows Kuro, a tomboy girl who dresses in black and carries a coffin on her back. She goes on journey to find a witch with a bat named Zen and other companions, and the travelers have various adventures on the way.

Kiyuduki launched the series in 2006, but the manga was on hiatus from 2009 to 2012. Houbunsha published the sixth compiled volume in February 2017.

Yen Press is releasing the manga in English, and it published the sixth volume in October. Yen Press also published Kiyuduki's seven-volume GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class manga in English. The manga ran in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Carat magazine from 2006 to 2015, and inspired a television anime series in 2009.
