Silver Spoon Manga Gets New Chapter on May 23

This year's 25th issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine revealed on Wednesday that the next issue will publish the newest chapter of Hiromu Arakawa's Silver Spoon manga on May 23. After returning from hiatus on July 5, the manga went back on hiatus after three chapters on July 26.
The series centers on Yūgo Hachiken, as well as the cast of characters that surround him when he decides to attend an agricultural high school in the countryside. Yūgo's decision to attend an agricultural school is influenced in part by disagreements with his parents, but when he gets to school, he finds himself not used to the realities of a life of farming, agriculture, and animal husbandry. To keep up with his classmates, he finds that he needs to adapt, learning to respect the knowledge of everybody around him.
The manga's 14th and most recent compiled book volume shipped in Japan on August 18. The 13th compiled volume revealed in June 2015 that the climax of the manga's story will be "imminent," though the series has taken several hiatuses since then.
Arakawa revealed her plans for the manga in Ichijinsha's Febri magazine in April 2017. She said that she had planned to depict Hachiken's first year in detail and then rush through the second year and show a shortened third year. After that, the story will show Hachiken and the other characters after graduation. Arakawa said that she was drawing the storyboards for that part of the story.
Arakawa created Fullmetal Alchemist before penning Silver Spoon. Yen Press licensed Silver Spoon for North America. Silver Spoon won 2012's Manga Taisho (Cartoon Grand Prize) and Booklog awards, and 2013's Shogakukan Manga Awards in the boys' category.
The first season of the anime adaptation of the manga aired on Fuji TV's Noitamina late-night programming block in summer 2013, and the second season premiered in January 2014. Aniplex USA released both seasons on home video, and Crunchyroll streamed both seasons of the anime. A live-action film adaptation opened in Japan in March 2014.
