FuRyu to Temporarily Halt Game Production (Updated)

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Company had lower than projected growth in game business, will focus instead on existing titles

Media company Furyu Corporation announced in a shareholder report on June 26 that it will temporarily halt its game production and funding of its game projects due to "lower than projected growth" despite the company's amount of investment in the business. FuRyu will instead focus on maximizing its monetization in game titles that it has already invested in, and maximizing its profits in investing in anime and game mixed media.

FuRyu is current developing the CRYSTAR, "Project One Room," Work x Work, and Beyblade Burst: Battle Zero games.

FuRyu developed The Alliance Alive, Last Bullet, The Caligula Effect, Unchained Blades, and Pastel Memories games, among others. The Caligula Effect recently received a television anime adaptation that premiered on April 8. The company is also in the production committee for such anime as Bakumatsu, Onegai My Melody Yū & Ai, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Yurucamp, Masamune-kun's Revenge, Kakegurui, and SHOW BY ROCK!!, among others.

FuRyu's Pastel Memories smartphone game is inspiring an upcoming television anime adaptation.

Update: FuRyu clarified in a supplementary explanation document on Monday that the temporary halt only applies to smartphone games.
