Neon Genesis Evangelion: Legend of the Piko-Piko Middle School Students Manga Ends on August 4

The August issue of Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine revealed on July 4 that Yūshi Kawata and Yukito's Neon Genesis Evangelion: Legend of the Piko-Piko Middle School Students manga will end in the magazine's next issue on August 4. The manga's fifth volume will ship on October 4.
Dark Horse Comics is releasing the manga in English, and it describes the story:
Mysterious invaders are threatening Earth...so recruit a group of elite schoolkids to play videogames that secretly train them for the real fight that lies ahead! Does this plan sound familiar? Well, they'd better get a new plan, because the elite schoolkids are Shinji, Rei, Asuka, and Kaworu, and they're too busy playing games to ever get in the fricking robot!
Kawata (Fist of the North Star: Strawberry Flavor) and Yukito launched the gag manga spinoff of Neon Genesis Evangelion in Young Ace in 2014. Kadokawa published the manga's fourth compiled book volume in April 2017. Dark Horse Comics published the manga's second volume on December 27.
Yukito also worked on the Neon Genesis Evangelion: Comic Tribute, also released by Dark Horse Comics.
