Attack on Titan Season 3 Premiere, Recap Movie Screenings Earn US$377,334

Box Office Mojo is listing a total gross of US$377,334 for Funimation's combined screenings of the the first episode of Attack on Titan season 3 and the Attack on Titan: The Roar of Awakening recap film. The July 10 screening, which screened the film in Japanese with English subtitles, earned US$225,441. The July 11 screening, which screened the film with an English dub, earned US$151,893.

Funimation screened the event in 160+ United States and Canadian theaters. The season already had its world premiere at Anime Expo on July 8.

The new season will premiere in Japan on July 22 at 24:35 (effectively July 23 at 12:45 a.m.) on NHK (the show will air at 25:15 in the Kansai region).

Funimation has acquired the home entertainment, video on demand, and broadcast rights of the series in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Hulu will stream the series as it airs, and Funimation will stream an English dub. Adult Swim's Toonami block will begin airing the anime on August 28.

Returning staff members at Wit Studio include: chief director Tetsuro Araki, director Masashi Koizuka, script supervisor Yasuko Kobayashi, character designer Kyoji Asano, assistant director Hiroyuki Tanaka, chief animation directors Kyoji Asano and Satoshi Kadowaki, and composer Hiroyuki Sawano, among others. X Japan and HYDE are performing the opening theme song "Red Swan."
