Kamisama Kiss' Julietta Suzuki Launches New Ninkoi Manga on August 4

Romantic comedy story follows modern-day ninja

This year's 16th issue of Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine revealed on Friday that Julietta Suzuki will launch a new manga titled Ninkoi in the magazine's 17th issue, which ships on August 4. The manga will feature on the cover of the issue. The first chapter will have an opening color page and 45 total pages.

The magazine describes the "modern-day ninja x romantic comedy" manga as centering on Anko, who lives in one of the few remaining isolated towns, as she takes a ninja selection test.

Suzuki recently penned a one-shot in Hakusensha's The Hana to Yume magazine on April 25. She ended her Tripitaka Torinique manga in Hana to Yume on January 4. The fourth and final volume shipped on March 20. Suzuki launched the series in October 2016.

Suzuki launched the Kamisama Kiss (Kamisama Hajimemashita) manga in Hana to Yume in 2008, and ended the series in May 2016 with 25 volumes. Viz Media publishes the manga in English, and released the 25th volume last October.

Kamisama Kiss inspired two anime seasons, and Funimation streamed both seasons as they aired in Japan, and also released both seasons on home video. The manga also inspired a series of four original anime DVDs (OADs) that shipped with the manga's 22nd-25th compiled volumes. A "volume 25.5," an official fanbook, shipped in December 2016, and bundled a DVD with an original anime, and a 32-page epilogue manga.
