PS4/PC game ships in 2019

Arc System Works revealed 30 minutes of gameplay footage for Kill la Kill the Game -If- (Ifu), the first game based on the Kill la Kill anime, during the Evolution Championship Series fighting game tournament on Friday. The game is also playable during the event, which runs until Sunday.

The game will launch for the PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam next year.

Arc System Works also said at the panel that writer Kazuki Nakashima will return to write the game's story, which will be written like "another episode" of the anime. The company also teased that Satsuki might have her "final form" in the game. The company is discussing the possibility of providing an English dub for the game.

The game will get its first playable demo at the Evolution Championship Series 2018 fighting game tournament, which will take place in Las Vegas from August 3 to 5.

Anime Studio Trigger and the game developer and publisher Arc System Works are collaborating on the game, with Arc System Works as the publisher. APLUS (Little Witch Academia game) is developing the game. The game will be for one to two players.

Trigger's latest projects include a collaboration with A-1 Pictures on the DARLING in the FRANXX television anime, which premiered in January. The studio is also working on the SSSS.Gridman anime, which will premiere this fall. Anime Expo will host the world premiere of the anime with Wakabayashi and other Japanese guests on July 6.

Arc System Works is best known for its fighting game series Guilty Gear and Blazblue. The developer recently worked on Bandai Namco Entertainment's Dragon Ball FighterZ, and recently released the Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle crossover fighting game.
