This year's combined 36th and 37th issues of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed the theme song artists for the television anime of Kawada's Hinomaru Zumō manga on Monday. Rock band Official HiGE DANdism (first image below) is performing the opening theme song, while rock band Omedetai Atama de Nani Yori (second image below) is performing the ending theme.

The magazine also revealed that the anime will premiere on October 5 at 10:00 p.m. on Tokyo MX and AbemaTV. It will also air on BS11, Sun TV, TV Aichi, and TVQ Broadcasting Kyushu.

Kōnosuke Uda (One Piece, DAYS) is serving as chief director and Yasutaka Yamamoto (Hero Bank, Actually, I Am…) is directing at GONZO. Kii Tanaka (Cheating Craft, Hundred) is designing the characters. NAS is producing.

Shonen Jump describes the manga's story:

It is a divine ritual, a martial art, a combat sport—it's sumo!!

A "small" new student, Ushio Hinomaru!, appears before the weak little sumo club of Oodachi High School! The words "big" and "heavy" are the rules to this sport, which does not fit this newbie any inch, but this guy goes and does what...!?

Ushio and the small sumo club climbs its way to the top!

The goal is *Hinoshita Kaisan!

A fired up high school sumo tale—no retakes allowed!!

*Hinoshita Kaisan - A title for the highest rank in professional sumo, equivalent of Yokozuna.

Kawada launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2014. Shueisha' published the 21st volume on August 3.
