The official website for the television anime adaptation of Honda's Gaikotsu Shotenin Honda-san (Skeleton Bookstore Employee Honda) manga revealed a visual, additional cast, the theme songs, and an October premiere on Thursday.

The new cast members are:

Yūko Sanpei as Kamibukuro (Paper Bag)

Eri Kitamura as Hōtai (Bandage)

Kimiko Saitō as Lantern

Shizuka Itou as Okitsune (Fox)

Aya Endō as Ko-omote (Little Mask)

Kazutomi Yamamoto as Rabbit Head

Hiroki Yasumoto as Full-Face (Helmet)

Wataru Hatano as Gas Mask

Toshiki Masuda as Yōsetsu Mask (Welding Mask)

Kōtarō Nishiyama as Kendo

Akemi Okamura as Armor

Yōko Hikasa as Pest Mask (Black Plague Mask)

The website previously revealed that Sōma Saitō is playing the title character Honda.

TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND feat. Honda (voiced by Saitō) is performing the opening theme song "ISBN ~Inner Sound & Book's Narrative~," and TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND feat. Hiroshi Takano is performing the ending theme song "Book-end, Happy-end."

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX, BS11, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and J:COM TV in October.

Owl Todoroki is directing the series at DLE, and Shin Okashima is writing and overseeing the series scripts. Naoko Kakiki is the character designer, Yuichi Imaizumi is the sound director at Half HP Studio, and TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND is composing the music at Lantis.

The comedy manga's story centers on a skeleton named Honda who works in a bookstore. Hilarity ensues daily in his work at the shop's manga counter.

Honda launched the manga on the pixiv Comic website in August 2015. Kadokawa brand company Media Factory published the third compiled book volume last September.

The manga ranked at #12 on the list of top manga series for female readers in Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook in 2016. The manga also ranked at #12 in Japanese online bookstore Honya Club's "Zenkoku Shotenin ga Eranda Osusume Comic 2017" (Nationwide Bookstore Employees' Recommended Comics of 2017) poll last year. In addition, the series was nominated in pixiv Comic and Nippon Shuppan Hanbai, Inc's "Web Manga Sōsenkyo" (Web Manga General Election) poll in 2017.
