Tubi TV Adds Heroes ~Legend of Battle Disks~ Anime

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
26-episode kids' series available with English dub

Streaming service Tubi TV confirmed with ANN that it added the Heroes ~Legend of Battle Disks~ anime on Tuesday. The full series is available with an English dub.

Cast members include Kira Buckland, Johanna Luis, Sean Chiplock, Darrel Guilbeau, Alan Lee, Faye Mata, Vic Mignogna, Wendee Lee, Lucien Dodge, and Patrick Seitz.

Tubi TV describes the series:

In order to resurrect an ancient guardian named Red Dragon, Vulkay and a handful of other cadets are training at the Academy to become HEROES--whose sole purpose is to hunt down and collect Battle Disks. The Battle Disks, which allow HEROES to create and summon monsters to aid them in battle, are fabled to be pieces of Red Dragon's spirit. Vulkay and his friends must use monsters to locate every Battle Disk scattered across Planet Aernia, as they'll need Red Dragon's help to fight against the dark forces that are gathering to destroy the world.

The project launched with collaboration from Spain's Magic Box Int. Toys. The 26-episode animated series, which premiered in 2013, is based on Magic Box's line of toys targeted at boys ages 5-12. Masahiro Hosoda (Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, Nangoku Shounen Papuwa-kun) directed the series off a story by Junki Takegami (Naruto Shippūden, Yu-Gi-Oh!), and Yoshihiro Nagamori (Bakugan Battle Brawlers, B-Legend! Battle Bedaman) designed the characters. Kosuke Harada and Hiroaki Taneoka produced the series at Asahi Production.

Marvista Entertainment announced in 2014 that it had acquired the worldwide distribution rights for the series. The show had its worldwide debut at France's MIPCOM in October 2014. It later launched on Netflix in Latin America in July 2015, and the English version debuted on HBO Asia in November 2015.
