Monster Musume Manga Goes on Hiatus Due to Author's Health

Author does not set return date, plans to focus on recovery

Monster Musume manga creator OKAYADO announced on Twitter on Friday that he will take a hiatus to focus on his mental health. He did not provide a time for his return, but he said that he would like to focus on recovery so he can resume serialization as soon as possible.

OKAYADO's Monster Musume manga took several months off last year, and the Comic Ryū blog usually explained that the breaks were in preparation for the compiled volume releases for the series. This year, the manga took a hiatus between the 59th chapter in March and the 60th chapter in June. The 61st and most recent chapter launched on August 30.

OKAYADO first published "Monster Musume" in Tokuma Shoten's Comic Ryū's Anthology Comic Kemomo 02 in 2011, and debuted the Monster Musume series in Comic Ryū in 2012. The 14th volume shipped on June 14. Seven Seas Entertainment releases the manga in North America.

A television anime adaptation of the manga ran in 2015, and original anime DVDs bundled with the manga's 11th and 12th volumes.
