Kiyoshi Hikawa Performs New Ending Theme for GeGeGe no Kitaro Anime

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Hikawa also sings show's opening theme song

The official website for the new GeGeGe no Kitarō anime revealed on Sunday that Kiyoshi Hikawa will perform the show's new ending theme song "Mien Keredomo, Orun da yo" (I Can't See Them But They're There). The song will debut in the show starting on October 7.

Hikawa is also performing the anime's current classic opening theme song "Gegege no Kitarō," and Rekishi, musician Takafumi Ikeda's "solo unit," is performing the current ending theme song "Get A Note" (pronounced "Geta no Oto," which translates to "The Sound of Geta Footwear").

The anime's new "Seiyō Yōkai-hen" (Western Yōkai Arc) arc will debut on October 7, and will center on the Western yōkai world's treasure, the "Ring of Arcana." A witch names Agnes steals the ring and flees. The Western yōkai's strongest emperor, Backbeard, and its followers follow Agnes to Japan. Agnes encounters Kitarō, and asks for his help.

The anime premiered on April 1, and replaced Dragon Ball Super in the same timeslot. The anime will run for 50+ episodes. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs.

Kouji Ogawa is serving as series director while Hiroshi Ohnogi (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) is handling series composition. Sorato Shimizu is the character designer and chief animation director. Yasuharu Takanashi (Fairy Tail) and -yaiba- (Naruto Shippūden) are composing the music. Fuji TV, Yomiuri Advertising, and Toei Animation are producing.
