Series premiered on Adult Swim's Toonami block on September 29

Anime News Network's coverage of New York Comic-Con 2018 is sponsored by Good Smile Company's Grand Summoners.

Viz Media revealed at a Shonen Jump panel at New York Comic Con on Saturday that it will release the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime on home video starting in spring 2019.

The Boruto: Naruto Next Generations television anime series premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo in April 2017, and originally aired on Wednesdays at 5:55 p.m. The anime moved to its Thursdays at 7:25 p.m. timeslot in May. The anime will move again to a new timeslot on Sundays at 5:30 p.m. starting on October 7.

Viz Media is simulcasting the series on Hulu as it airs in Japan, and Crunchyroll is also streaming the anime. The anime began airing on Adult Swim's Toonami block on September 29.

The anime is based on Ukyō Kodachi and Mikie Ikemoto's Boruto sequel manga, which launched in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2016.
