Nightshade Visual Novel Listed for Switch With English-Language Support

Otome game launched on Steam last year

Japanese retailers HMV and 7net are listing a Nintendo Switch release for D3Publisher's otome visual novel Nightshade. The game is slated to launch in Japan on December 20, and it is listed with English and Traditional Chinese language support.

The game debuted in Japan for PlayStation Vita in February 2016, then launched on PC via Steam in April 2017. The Steam version is available in English.

D3Publisher describes the game:

During the Sengoku Period the two main factions of ninja clans, Iga and Kōga, warred against each other for decades. In the year 1593, Nobunaga Oda started the Tenshō Iga war, decimating most of the Iga ninjas in the process. The very few that survived were absorbed into the Kōga clan, despite their past rivalries.

After 17 years the Sengoku Period finally came to an end, and Japan was unified.

Enju (Protagonist), daughter of Kandō Ueno, the Head of the Kōga clan, spends her days training diligently in hope of becoming a full-fledged ninja like her peers.

At long last she is assigned to her first mission, but finds herself caught in a dark conspiracy――.

The visual novel has two endings for each of the five main characters. Red Entertainment and LANTERN ROOMS developed the game.
