Sunrise Establishes Own Label for Music

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
New label's first release is opening song for Double Decker! anime

The official Twitter account for Sunrise subsidiary Sunrise Music Publishing announced on September 28 that Sunrise has established its own music label named "SUNRISE Music Label." The new label aims to produce music alongside anime productions to expand the company's music publishing business.

The label's first release will be the "Stereo to Monologue" single by Kirisame Undertaker. The song is the opening theme song for the Double Decker! Doug & Kirill anime, and it will ship on December 5. The new label will also ship the Aikatsu! franchise's "picture record" release "Calendar Girl."

Sunrise founded the Sunrise Music Publishing subsidiary in 2002 to publish music from Sunrise and Bandai Namco Pictures franchises. The focus of the company was primarily the management of copyrights and licenses, but with the new label it will release music itself and expand its role in production.
