World Trigger Manga Resumes on October 29

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Manga will run for 5 issues in Shonen Jump before moving to Jump SQ. in December

The official website for Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Monday that Daisuke Ashihara's World Trigger manga will resume in the magazine's 48th issue on October 29. The manga will run for five issues in the magazine until the 52nd issue on November 26. It will then move to Shueisha's Jump SQ. magazine, starting with the January 2019 issue on December 4. The manga's 19th compiled book volume — the first in 21 months — will also ship on December 4.

Ashihara drew an illustration with a comment, saying that he will continue to be careful about his health while he works on the manga.

The manga has been on hiatus since November 2016 due to Ashihara's poor physical health.

Ashihara took a one-week break in September 2014 to treat the nerve roots affected by cervical spondylosis (wear and tear on neck area of spinal column), and has since taken several one-week breaks due to sudden illness.

Ashihara debuted the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2013, and Shueisha published the manga's 18th volume in March 2017. Viz Media publishes the series simultaneously in its digital anthology version of Weekly Shonen Jump, and it published the 18th volume in print on January 2. The manga inspired a two-season television anime adaptation in 2014 and 2015.
