5th, 6th K: Seven Stories Films to Premiere at Anime NYC in November

Screening of 6th film will be world premiere

Viz Media announced on Tuesday that it will host the North American premiere of the K: Seven Stories "Memory of Red ~BURN~" film and the world premiere of the K: Seven Stories "Circle Vision ~Nameless Song~" film at Anime NYC this November. The films are the fifth and sixth installments, respectively, for the six-part K: Seven Stories film series.

The screening for Memory of Red ~BURN~ will take place on Friday, November 16 at 3:15 p.m. local time. The film will open in Japan on November 3.

The screening for Circle Vision ~Nameless Song~ will take place on Saturday, November 17 at 3:45 p.m. local time. The film will premiere in Japanese theaters on December 1.

The first four films opened in Japan on the following days:

  • R:B ~Blaze~ on July 7
  • SIDE:BLUE ~Tenrō no Gotoku on August 4
  • SIDE:GREEN ~Uwagaki Sekai~ on September 1
  • Lost Small World ~Ori no Mukō ni (To the Other Side of the Cage) on October 6

A The Idol K anime short is also screening alongside each episode.

Viz Media licensed the six-part film project. Viz's license for the K franchise also includes digital streaming, EST, home video, and merchandising rights for both anime television series and the K: Missing Kings film.

Shingo Suzuki is returning as director and character designer at the studio GoHands the anime. GoRA and GoHands are once again credited for the original story. GoRA is also credited with writing and oveerseeing the series scripts. Mikio Endo is again composing the music. Music group angela are performing all six ending theme songs — one for each of the six parts. The group are also performing the opening theme song "SURVIVE!" for all six parts. Each of the ending theme songs is named after each part's subtitle.

K: Memory of Red is a title of a manga in the franchise, and K SIDE:BLUE, K:SIDE:GREEN, and K: R:B are titles of novels in the franchise. K―Lost Small World― is both a novel and a manga. Idol K is a parody book that reimagines if the characters in the franchise were all idols. The sixth film will tell a new story.

Anime NYC will be held at the Javits Center in New York City from November 16-18.
