Filming for 2019 film begins in December

This year's 24th issue of Shonengahosha's Young King magazine revealed the cast for the film adaptation of Daisuke Watanabe's Gedō no Uta (The Villain's Song) manga on Monday. The film is titled Zenaku no Kuzu after Watanabe's first manga in the series. Filming will begin in December, and the film is slated for release in 2019.

The magazine's 23rd issue teased earlier this month that the manga would have an important announcement in the magazine's current issue.

Kōji Shiraishi (live-action Impossibility Defense, Sadako vs. Kayako films) is directing the live-action film.

The Gedō no Uta manga centers on Kamo and his partner Tora, who work in the underworld as "avengers for hire," taking on jobs from the victims of violent crimes and families seeking vengeance for wrongs done to them.

The Zenaku no Kuzu (The Scum of Good and Evil) manga ran in Young King from 2014 to 2016. The ongoing sequel, Gedō no Uta (The Villain's Song), launched in Young King in 2016. Shonengahosha published the seventh volume of Gedō no Uta and the first compiled volume of the Sonoda no Uta spinoff on Monday.
