Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box Smartphone Port Game Launches

Level 5 began streaming a commercial on Thursday for Layton Kyōju to Akuma no Hako EXHD for Smartphone, an iOS and Android port of the second Professor Layton game. The game launched in Japan on Wednesday, and is on sale for 960 yen (about US$8.50) until March 4. The game's normal retail price is 1,200 yen (about US$10.60).
The second Professor Layton game, Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box (Layton Kyōju to Akuma no Hako), debuted for Nintendo DS in Japan in 2007 and in North America and Europe in 2009. In Europe, the game is titled Professor Layton and Pandora's Box.
A smartphone port of the first game, Professor Layton and the Curious Village, debuted in June.
The newest game in the franchise, Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy (Layton Mystery Journey: Katriel to Daifugō no Inbō), debuted for iOS and Android in July 2017. The game also launched for Nintendo 3DS on the same day in Japan and on October 6 in the West. An anime adaptation premiered on April 8.
