Shōta Aoi joins cast; 4 cast members sing opening song under "4 Dimensions" name

The official Twitter account and website for the Chōjigen Kakumei Anime: Dimension High School (Super-Dimensional Revolution Anime - Dimension High School) original live-action/anime hybrid television show posted a new promotional video for the show on Wednesday. The video reveals another cast member, the opening theme song, and the show's January 10 premiere.

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX (at 10:00 p.m.), J:COM, and GyaO! on January 10, and will premiere on BS Fuji on January 13.

Shōta Aoi will join the anime as the Dimensional Messenger. The Dimensional Messenger narrates the video above.

Takahide Ishii, Takeo Ōtsuka, Shōhei Hashimoto, and Takuma Zaiki will perform the opening theme song "Here we go!" as their characters under the unit name 4 Dimensions.

The show will have both live-action and anime parts, with Yuuichi Abe (Carino Coni, The Girl in Twilight) as director, and Izumi (Touken Ranbu) as character designer. Polygon Pictures is animating the 3DCG animation parts, and the actors themselves are performing motion capture for the animation.

The previously revealed cast includes: (left to right in image above)

  • Takuma Zaiki as Tsuyoshi Kikawada
  • Shōhei Hashimoto as Yurio Mizukami
  • Takahide Ishii as Junpei Shiroyama
  • Takeo Ōtsuka as Ryūsei Midorigaoka

Other cast members include:

Junichi Suwabe as Sphinx, a god of destruction who aims to subjugate the 3D world

The show's story centers on five high school boys who are taking remedial classes, when they are suddenly sent across dimensions to an anime world. The story develops as they cross between both the real and anime worlds.

Ai Nimoda will launch a manga adaptation on the pixiv Sylph website on Thursday. The show also has a radio program titled Dimension High School - Hōkago Jishūshitsu (After School Private Study Room) that debuted on October 19 on Radio Osaka, Radio Cloud, and Nico Nico Channel, with Ishii and Ōtsuka as hosts.
