2019 Hot Gimmick, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Precure Movies Slated

Toei announced its lineup of films in 2019 on Monday. The distributor confirmed the opening dates for a number of films, including the Eiga Precure Miracle Universe film, the live-action Hot Gimmick film, the Kamen Rider Zi-O film (working title), the Gekijō-ban Shin Super Sentai film (working title), the Star ☆ Twinkle Precure film (working title), and the new Kamen Rider Next Generations 2020 film (working title).

Hot Gimmick will open in Japan on June 28. The film will star Nogizaka46 member Miona Hori as Hatsumi Narita, and also includes Hiroya Shimizu as Ryōki Tachibana, Mizuki Itagaki as Azusa Odagiri, and Shōtarō Mamiya as Shinogu Narita. Yūki Yamato (live-action Oboreru Knife film) is directing and penning the film. Filming started in mid-September and will finish in mid-October.

The Kamen Rider Zi-O film will open alongside the new Super Sentai series film on July 26 as the two franchises' latest summer double feature. Kamen Rider Next Generations 2020 will open in winter 2019. Before 2018 ends as the last full year of Japan's Heisei era, the Kamen Rider franchise will also open the Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FOREVER film (seen left) on December 22.

Eiga Precure Miracle Universe will open on March 16. The Star ☆ Twinkle Precure film will open in fall. Toei Animation announced the Star ☆ Twinkle Precure television anime as the 16th entry in the Precure franchise in November. The television anime will premiere next spring. The currently airing Precure (Pretty Cure) series, Hugtto! Precure, premiered on February 4. The Eiga Hugtto! Precure ♡ Futari wa Precure All Stars Memories film premiered on October 27 in Japan, and it ended with a preview of Eiga Precure Miracle Universe.
