Funimation to Also Stream The Promised Neverland Anime

posted on by Karen Ressler
Series premieres next week

FUNimation Entertainment announced on Friday that it will stream the television anime adaptation of Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu's The Promised Neverland (Yakusoku no Neverland) manga this winter. The company did not specify whether the series will be subtitled or dubbed, though previous simulcasts from Aniplex of America have been subtitle-only on Funimation and other platforms.

Aniplex of America will also stream the anime on Crunchyroll and Hulu starting on January 9. The anime will premiere in Japan on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block on January 10 at 24:55 (effectively January 11 at 12:55 a.m.). The anime will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime in Japan.

The anime stars:

Mamoru Kanbe (Elfen Lied, The Perfect Insider) is directing the anime at A-1 Pictures' CloverWorks studio (PERSONA 5 the Animation). Toshiya Ono (Gatchaman Crowds, The Perfect Insider) is writing the series composition, Kazuaki Shimada (Mahou Shoujo Nante Mouiidesukara.) is designing the characters for animation, and Takahiro Obata is composing the music.

The band UVERworld will perform the anime's opening theme song "Touch off" and the band Cö shu Nie (Tokyo Ghoul:re) will perform the ending song "Zettai Zetsumei" (Stalemate).
