Sony Mascot Character Gonjiro Gets TV Anime this Spring

Shogakukan's Coro Coro Comics magazine revealed on Saturday that the "Gonjiro" mascot character is getting a television anime adaptation titled Kedama no Gonjiro that will premiere this spring. The magazine's YouTube channel is streaming a scene from the upcoming anime, but the video is region locked and can only be viewed in Japan.

The anime will air on TV Tokyo and its affiliates.
Yasunari Nagatoshi launched the Kedama no Gonjiro manga in the magazine's October issue on September 15. The manga is inspiring a smartphone game titled Kedama no Gonjiro: Fit and Run.
Sony revealed the mascot character at its press conference in September 2017. The character is a collaboration between Sony Interactive Entertainment, Sony Music Entertainment, Aniplex, and Shogakukan.
