2nd Live-Action Tokyo Ghoul Film Casts Nana Mori, Mai Kiryū

Mori replaces Seika Furuhata as Yoriko

The official website for the live-action films of Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul manga announced two new cast members for the tentatively titled live-action Tokyo Ghoul 2 film on Saturday. Both new characters are joining the franchise for the first time.

Nana Mori as Yoriko Kosaka (Seika Furuhata played Yoriko in the first film)


Mai Kiryū as Kimi Nishino

The film will open in Japan on July 19.

Masataka Kubota (center in image below) is returning as Ken Kaneki, but Maika Yamamoto (left in image below) is replacing Fumika Shimizu as Tōka Kirishima. (Shimizu retired from acting to join the Happy Science religious organization in 2017.) Shota Matsuda (right in image below) is joining the cast as Shū Tsukiyama, a character who appears in the manga but was not in the last film.

Kai Ogasawara as Hideyoshi "Hide" Nagachika

Hiyori Sakurada as Hinami Fueguchi

Nobuyuki Suzuki as Kōtarō Amon

Minosuke Bandō as Uta

Kunio Murai as Yoshimura

Shuntarō Yanagi as Renji Yomo

The first film premiered on July 3, 2017 at Anime Expo in Los Angeles. The film then opened in Japan on July 29, 2017, and ranked #5 in its opening weekend in Japan. Funimation screened the first film in theaters in the United States in October 2017.
