Isekai Cheat Magician Anime's 1st Promo Video Streamed

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

The official website for the television anime of Takeru Uchida's Isekai Cheat Magician (Fantasy World Cheat Magician) novel series began streaming the show's first promotional video on Saturday.

The cast includes Kōhei Amasaki as Taichi Nishimura (left in image below), and Rie Takahashi as Rin Azuma (right).

Daisuke Tsukushi (episode director on Croisée in a Foreign Labyrinth - The Animation, Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory, Girly Air Force) is making his series directorial debut with the anime, and Encourage Films is animating the series. Takayo Ikami (Penguindrum, Yuri Kuma Arashi, Beautiful Bones -Sakurako's Investigation-) is in charge of the series scripts. Shuji Maruyama (Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's) is designing the characters.

The story centers on Taichi Nishimura and his friend Rin Azuma, who both get transported into a fantasy world. While in their previous world, Taichi is a normal person who just has higher than average reflexes, both he and Rin gain high levels of physical and magical ability, and begin their new life as magicians.

Uchida debuted the story in the "Shōsetsuka ni Narō" (Let's Be Novelists) website in 2012, and is still updating the story. Shufunotomo is publishing the story in physical volumes with illustrations by Nardack, beginning with the first volume in 2013. Karin Suzuragi launched a manga adaptation of the novels in Shōnen Ace in December 2012. Taku Kawamura also launched a spinoff manga titled Soreyuke! Isekai Cheat Magician (Go Forth! Fantasy World Cheat Magician) in Kadokawa's Shōnen Ace magazine last August.

The novels and manga together have 1.4 million copies in print.
