Judgment Game's English Trailer Posted

Sega's Toshihiro Nagoshi also comments on Pierre Taki issue, possibility of sequel

Sega began streaming an English announcement trailer for Ryu ga Gotoku Studio's Judgment (Judge Eyes: Shinigami no Yuigon) PlayStation 4 game last Friday.

The game will launch in the West as previously scheduled on June 25. The game shipped in Japan in December. Sega will change the character model and Japanese voice for the character Kyohei Hamura in the Western release.

Sega chief creative officer Toshihiro Nagoshi also recently spoke about the game during the latest Sega Nama live stream last week. He commented (6:21 to 11:41 in video below) on the recent issue regarding the arrest of Denki Groove member and actor Pierre Taki (real name Masanori Taki) and Sega's decision to temporarily cease sales of the game. Nagoshi said that he was surprised to hear the news of the arrest, and that his phone began ringing as soon as he read the news on Yahoo! News. He voted to cease sales of the game, but empathized with fans who thought the action was too severe. He clarified that the decision was easier to make since Sega had only released the game recently.

The game has a 97% sell-through, with almost no copies left for sale worldwide.

He also said that there are no plans for a sequel to the game yet, but that the character Kyohei Hamamura (played by Taki) will not appear in any potential sequel.

The Narcotics Control Department of Japan's Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry arrested Taki on March 12 for alleged illegal possession and use of cocaine.

Greg Chun stars in the English dub as Takayuki Yagami. Other dub cast members include by Crispin Freeman, Matthew Mercer, Cherami Leigh, Yuri Lowenthal, James Hong, Ed O'Ross, Amy Walker, Matt Yang King, Fred Tatasciore, and Brian McNamara. The dub cast will include guest appearances by SungWon Cho, Cristina Vee, and Max Mittelman.

The game will have both English audio and Japanese audio with English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish subtitles. The game will feature two different sets of subtitles, one that matches the English audio track and one translating the Japanese audio track.

Sega describes the game:

Step into the mind of Takayuki Yagami and utilize investigation skills to uncover the secrets that lie deep within Kamurocho's corrupt underbelly when Judgment launches in summer 2019!
