Manga entered final arc in January, is inspiring TV anime in October

This year's 24th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine revealed on Wednesday that Takeshi Hinata's Ahiru no Sora manga will go on a "short hiatus" beginning with the magazine's next issue on May 22. The magazine did not state when the manga will return.

In the story, 15-year-old Sora Kurumatani is only 149 centimeters (4'10") tall, but he loves basketball. He enthusiastically joins the basketball club as soon as he gets to high school, but the club is comprised of two terrifying twins who rule the school and their friends. Can Sora continue in this kind of club?

Hinata launched the manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2003, and Kodansha released the manga's 50th compiled book volume last November. The manga has more than 24 million copies in print. The manga entered its final arc in January.

The manga is inspiring an upcoming television anime adaptation by diomedéa that will premiere in October.
