Sentai Filmworks to Dub Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories, Golden Time Anime

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Both dubs to premiere this year

Sentai Filmworks announced at its panel at the Anime Central event on Saturday that is producing English dubs for the Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories anime and Golden Time anime, with both slated for release this year.

The Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories anime's first season premiered in 2013, and the sixth and most recent season premiered last July. Crunchyroll has streamed all six seasons as they aired. Each season of the series has 13 episodes.

The original series of anime shorts featured six-minute horror stories based on urban legends. The shorts are inspired by Shōwa-era illustrated paper theater productions. Sentai Filmworks licensed the first two seasons of the series and released them on home video with English subtitles in 2016.

The Golden Time anime is based on the light novel series by Yuyuko Takemiya (Toradora!). The 24-episode series premiered in October 2013.

Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired. Sentai Filmworks released the anime on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in 2014 and 2015.

The school romantic comedy revolves around Banri Tada, a college student who lost all of his memories upon graduating his high school. The story follows Banri, Kōko Kaga (a girl whose seemingly-perfect looks belies her hidden regrets), Kōko's significant other Mitsuo Yanagisawa, and other students at Banri's college in Tokyo, including Nana Hayashida, Chinami Oka, Nijigen-kun, and Nana-senpai.
