October series' English-subtitled trailer streamed

Crunchyroll Expo announced on Friday that it will host a premiere screening of the first episode of the anime of FUNA's Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?! (Watashi, Nōryoku wa Heikinchi de tte Itta yo ne!) light novel series on August 31. The film's producer Hirotsugu Ogo will participate in a discussion panel after the screening.

Crunchyroll also began streaming an English-subtitled trailer for the film on Friday. The video debuted in Japanese on July 24.

Crunchyroll will screen the series outside Asia this fall, and it describes the story:

An above average high school girl, Kurihara Misato, is reborn in another world after an accident.

Her wish in this new world: "I want to make friends like normal and live a normal life."

The anime will premiere this October, and the cast includes:

Masahiko Ohta (Minami-ke, Yuruyuri - Happy Go Lily, Gabriel DropOut) is directing the anime at project No.9. Takashi Aoshima, who has worked with Ohta on many of the series he directed, is in charge of series composition. Sō Watanabe (Momo Kyun Sword, Girls Beyond the Wasteland episode animation director) is drawing the character designs.

Cast members Azumi Waki, Sora Tokui, and Masumi Tazawa will perform the opening theme song "Smile Skill=Sukisukiskill" as their respective characters and under the unit name Akaki Chikai. Waki will also perform the ending theme song "Genzai ↑ Banzai ↑" as Mile.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the novels and the manga, and it describes the story:

When she turns ten years old, Adele von Ascham is hit with a horrible headache–and memories of her previous life as an eighteen-year-old Japanese girl named Kurihara Misato. That life changed abruptly, however, when Misato died trying to aid a little girl and met god. During that meeting, she made an odd request and asked for average abilities in her next life. But few things–especially wishes–ever go quite as planned.

FUNA launched the original novel on the "Shōsetsuka ni Narō!" (Let's Become Novelists!) website in January 2016. Neko Mint launched a manga adaptation on Earth Star Entertainment's Comic Earth Star website in August 2016. Yuki Moriki launched a four-panel spinoff manga titled Watashi, Miochijō wa Heikinchi de tte Itta yo ne! (Didn't I Say to Make My Everyday Life Average in the Next Life?!) on the Comic Earth Star website on July 11.
