Kishō Taniyama Ruptures Achilles Tendon, Cancels 3 GRANRODEO Concerts

Voice actor, singer injured during Saturday concert in Hokkaido

Voice actor and singer Kishō Taniyama announced on Monday that he has ruptured his Achilles tendon. The official website for his band GRANRODEO noted that he injured his right foot while performing during a live concert in Hokkaido on Saturday. Due to a hospital diagnosis after the concert, the band decided to cancel two live concerts scheduled for September 20 and 21. The band has also canceled a September 22 appearance at the Inazuma Rock festival.

Taniyama is the vocalist for GRANRODEO, and the band has performed theme songs for such anime as Kotetsushin Jeeg, Psychic Squad, Needless, togainu no chi - Bloody Curs, Uta no Prince Sama, Hamatora, Samurai Jam -Bakumatsu Rock-, The Seven Deadly Sins, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Magical Girl Ore, and Baki.

Taniyama also voiced characters in Bottle Fairy, Rumbling Hearts, Midori Days, DearS, La Corda D'Oro - primo passo, Zoids Genesis, Uta no Prince Sama, A Certain Magical Index, Needless, Highschool of the Dead, Amnesia, Attack on Titan, No-Rin, Show By Rock!!, Bungo Stray Dogs, Dies irae, Magical Girl Ore, and Ahiru no Sora.
