In/Spectre Manga to Also Serialize in Monthly Shonen Magazine

Manga launched in Shōnen Magazine R in April 2015

The 11th compiled book volume (seen right) of Kyo Shirodaira and Chasiba Katase's In/Spectre (Kyokō Suiri or Invented Interface) manga revealed on Thursday that the manga will now also serialize in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in addition to its serialization in Shōnen Magazine R. In/Spectre will serialize monthly in both magazines.

Shōnen Magazine R announced on Saturday that the magazine is changing to a digital-only magazine, and will change to a monthly schedule (the magazine was previously published every two months) starting in the January 2020 issue on December 20.

The manga's 12th volume is also slated to ship on March 17.

Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in English, and it describes the supernatural mystery romance:

When she was still just a girl, Kotoko was kidnapped by yokai. These spirits made her into a powerful intermediary between the spirit and human worlds, but this power came at a price: an eye and a leg. Now, years later, she watches out for dangerous yokai while developing feelings for a young man named Kuro, who is also special: an incident with a yokai has given him healing powers. He's surprised when Kotoko asks him to team up to handle renegade yokai, preserving the thin line between reality and the supernatural.

Katase launched the manga based on a 2011 novel by Shirodaira (Spiral, The Record of a Fallen Vampire, Blast of Tempest) in Shōnen Magazine R in April 2015. The manga is Katase's first serialized work. The manga was nominated for Best Shōnen Manga in the 42nd Annual Kodansha Manga Awards in 2018. Kodansha Comics will publish the 10th volume in English on October 22.

The manga is inspiring a television anime adaptation that will premiere in January 2020.
