Animax Asia Airs Cells at Work!! Season 2, Re:Zero Season 2 2nd Half

Animax Asia announced on December 26 that it will air simulcasts for the Cells at Work!! (with two exclamation points), the second anime season of the anime based on Akane Shimizu's Cells at Work! manga, and the second half of the second season for the Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- anime.
Cells at Work!! will premiere on January 10 at 8:30 p.m. GMT +8. Muse Asia has licensed the second season in Southeast Asia, and is also screening the "Special Screening Edition" of the second season. The "Special Screening Edition" is a story based on the fifth volume of the original manga, which screened in Japanese theaters beginning on September 5, and will also be part of the second season's television airing.
Hirofumi Ogura (Black Butler II, Null & Peta) is the new director of the second season (and the accompanying theatrical anime) at david production. Yuuko Kakihara is returning to write and oversee the series scripts. Takahiko Yoshida is returning as the character designer, and Kenichiro Suehiro and MAYUKO are returning to compose the music. The anime will also feature a returning cast.
The Cells at Work! Code Black anime has a separate staff and cast from the second anime season of the main Cells at Work! manga. That anime will also premiere in Japan on January 9, and Muse Asia has also licensed the anime.
The first television anime of the original manga premiered in July 2018 and aired for 13 episodes. Animax Asia aired a simulcast of the anime in Southeast Asia.
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- will premiere on January 7 at 8:30 p.m. GMT +8.
The anime's second season was delayed from April to July 2020. The staff explained that "the global issues of the COVID-19 coronavirus illness have had a big effect on the production" of the show. Animax Asia aired a simulcast of the first half of the second season.
The 25-episode first anime season of Tappei Nagatsuki's Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- light novel series premiered in April 2016. Animax Asia premiered the anime in January 2017. The anime has inspired two original video anime (OVA) volumes, titled Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Memory Snow and Re:ZERO - Starting Life in Another World - The Frozen Bond. Animax Asia aired both anime in July 2020.
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Director's Cut, an updated version of the television anime's first season, premiered in January 2020. The new edit of the first 25-episode season adds some new footage and reworks the episodes to run in a one-hour timeslot. Animax Asia began airing the anime in June 2020.
