Duo to hold "fripSide Phase 2 Final Arena Tour" next April

Voice actress and singer Yoshino Nanjō announced during the live-streamed "fripSide Announcement Special" on Sunday that she is "graduating" from the music duo fripSide. The duo also announced the "fripSide Phase 2 Final Arena Tour" next April.

The duo will hold a "fripSide Virtual Live 2022 in VARK" concert on January 8 at 7:00 p.m., and the VARK platform will make the concert available in VR (on Oculus Quest, Oculus Quest 2, and PlayStation VR), on smartphones, and on the web.

The "fripSide Phase 2 Final Arena Tour" will play in Aichi on April 2, Hyogo on April 9, and in Saitama on April 23 and 24.

Since 2009, the unit fripSide consists of vocalist Yoshino Nanjō (Ar Tonelico, Love Live!) and producer/composer/programmer Satoshi Yaginuma. (The previous vocalist was nao from 2002 until she graduated in 2009. The members describe Nanjou's ongoing stint as the duo's "Phase 2.") The unit performed the two opening themes for the first A Certain Scientific Railgun series, as well as the opening theme for the original video anime. They also performed theme songs for Koihime Musō (with nao as the vocalist), the Aa Megami-sama original anime video series, and Hayate the Combat Butler! Heaven Is a Place on Earth.

The duo has since performed more songs for A Certain Scientific Railgun franchise as well as Black Bullet, Future Card Buddyfight, Seraph of the End, Schwarzes Marken, Ajin, Clockwork Planet, Dances with the Dragons, Boarding School Juliet, and King's Raid.

Earlier in the evening, The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest anime announced that fripSide is performing the anime's opening theme song "Leap of faith."
