Yu-Gi-Oh! Promotes Kindess To Animals With Contest And Limited-Edition Poster

YU-GI-OH! PROMOTES KINDNESS TO ANIMALS WITH CONTEST AND LIMITED-EDITION POSTER

Visitors to TeachKind.org Vie to Win Autographed Yu-Gi-Oh! Illustration in Contest

Norfolk, Va. — Anybody who's seen Yugi battling bad guys and dueling monsters on the hit TV show Yu-Gi-Oh! (airing on Kids WB and Cartoon Network), in the wildly popular SHONEN JUMP magazine, or in VIZ graphic novels knows that Yugi can be tough when he needs to be. But the animated hero also has a soft spot for animals, and he's revealing it in a new and exclusive poster created especially for TeachKind.org, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' (PETA) humane education program that offers free educational materials to students and teachers.

Yu-Gi-Oh! fans who visit TeachKind.org can order a free limited-edition poster, read an online interview with Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi, and enter a contest to win an exclusive and original Yu-Gi-Oh! illustration signed by Takahashi.

“We're thrilled to be teaming up with TeachKind.org to bring this important message to today's youth,” says VIZ SHONEN JUMP Vice President Yumi Hoashi. “Yugi from Yu-Gi-Oh! is a role model for young people today, and we think he can help them realize that being cruel isn't cool, but sticking up for animals is.”

San Francisco-based VIZ is one of the top five comic publishers in the U.S. and a subsidiary of Shogakukan, Inc., and Shueisha, Inc., two of the top publishers in Japan. VIZ is the leading publisher of manga for English-speaking audiences, with an estimated core audience of nearly 15 million fans. For more information, visit www.VIZ.com, www.Animerica-Mag.com, and www.SHONENJUMP.com.

Permission to reprint the attached limited-edition poster and/or the autographed illustration can be obtained from Yumi Hoashi at 415-546-7073. TeachKind.org will offer the free poster, interview, and contest online starting September 1.
