Created by Takami Akai (Japan's mega-hit Princess Maker computer game,) with supervising direction by the legendary Hideaki Anno (Neon Gensis Evangelion, Nadia,) and directed by Masahiko Otsuka (Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Grrl Power), Petite Princess Yucie is a project so big that it required a joint venture of two of Japan's greatest animation powerhouses to realize: GAINAX (Evangelion, FLCL, MSA Abenobashi, Nadia) and AIC (Tenchi Muyo!, Bubblegum Crisis ,Dual!, BGC2040, El Hazard.)
