Subarashii Nation sets out to enhance the convention experience
Inaugural convention at 5-Star Fontainebleau Hilton Resort
MIAMI, FLA. - October 18, 2004
Subarashii Nation presents an exciting, new convention experience. Situated on the sunny beaches of South Florida, the 5-Star Fontainebleau Hilton opens its doors December 17th – 19th to welcome the arrival of OtakuCon.
OtakuCon Miami Beach and future conventions - in Atlanta and St. Louis - under the banner of Kunicon will include an all-inclusive package that allows you to buy your weekend pass to the con, book a hotel room at the convention's location and even buy a meal plan. There is also the welcome addition of financing, giving the attendee the chance to pay slowly leading up to the time of the convention. This is a welcome addition to convention circles, reducing the headaches that come with enjoying a weekend event such as this.
Featured at OtakuCon is a who's-who of the anime community's brightest stars from the past, present and future! These guests include Johnny Yong Bosch, Mandy Bonhomme, Carrie Savage, Joshua Seth, David Kaye, Kirby Morrow, Scott McNeil, Doug Smith, Toshi Yoshida and Steve Bennett. OtakuCon will also include events such as cosplay contests, anime music video contests, gaming tournaments, dancing, live music (Both DJ's and independent rock bands from labels such as A Different Drum) and rows upon rows of dealer booths with an incredible assortment and variety of merchandise.
Sister company to Prestige Service Travel, Subarashii Nation (formerly known as D20inc.) was founded by several co-workers and friends who were each fans of anime, sci-fi and more. As fans enjoying the many great conventions across the nation, they joined together to add their own style to the mix.
