New J-music Event Company Launches

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS January 16, 2006 � SPJM INC. a new company specializing in event planning, has set up shop in America's heartland.

SPJM INC., formerly Society for the Promotion of Japanese Music, is an event planning company focusing on Japanese music. The company also works to promote American bands inspired by Japanese music. SPJM INC. is run by Erin Staley, Katheryn Parker, and Christina Bailey.

The goal of this company is to create unique events for Japanese music fan base in America, the same way predecessors have created unique events for the anime fan base. SPJM INC. is currently working on planning their first event, Ongakai.

Ongakai is a music festival which will showcase Japanese musicians and American bands inspired by Japanese music. The name of the event is taken from the Japanese words ongaku and taikai, "music" and "meeting", respectively.

According to company president Erin Staley, "Ongakai represents a culmination of three years' work. The event will feature a fashion competition, informative panels, and of course, concerts. We are an ambitious company, and our goals reflect that."
