JoyRide Entertainment kicks off summer at Origins, Anime Expo

CHARLOTTE, NC (June 7, 2006) -- No more school, summer is here - and that means summer convention season is here as well! The first of the four major conventions JoyRide Entertainment is attending this summer (in addition to San Diego Comic-Con and Gen Con Indy) are both taking place Fourth of July weekend on separate sides of the country: Origins Game Fair in Columbus, Ohio (June 29-July 2) and Anime Expo in Anaheim, Calif. (July 1-4). Twice the shows means twice the chance to come out and see and enjoy Fullmetal Alchemist TCG!

Both shows are a great place to stop by and learn how to play the top new TCG of 2005, Fullmetal Alchemist TCG. Anyone who completes a demo of FMA TCG will receive a free booster pack from an FMA TCG set and be entered into our hourly raffle, with giveaways including FMA TCG starter decks, booster packs, hats, t-shirts, DVDs, and video games. Anyone who stops by the booth will also receive a free, exclusive Alphonse Elric, Impenetrable Armor promo card!

Looking to pick up the latest FMA TCG expansions? At Anime Expo, the JoyRide Entertainment booth will have starters and boosters from all of the FMA TCG expansions. At Origins, JoyRide Entertainment is partnering with Cardhaus Games to have a huge selection of FMA TCG booster packs and decks in stock. Picking up your favorite FMA TCG products from JoyRide or Cardhaus is the only way you can get your hands on one of the eight brand-new Heavy Duty (HD) cards (see the list here: http://www.FMA-tcg.com/content/view/74/48/). These cards are unlike any other FMA TCG in existence: They're printed on high-quality glossy cardstock and are twice as thick as a normal card! For every $20 you spend at the JoyRide Entertainment booth at Anime Expo or the Cardhaus Games booth at Origins, you get your choice of one of these HD cards, while supplies last.

Last summer our "Open a box, get a transmute" promotion was a huge hit, and it's back at conventions this year! Just open 24 packs of any Fullmetal Alchemist TCG product (one 24-count box or two 12-count boxes) and you'll receive a free transmutated card from Premier Edition, Blood & Water, Artificial Human, or A Hero's Passing.

Summer conventions are also the best place for you to get your hands on the exclusive Transmutation (http://www.FMA-tcg.com/content/view/188/48/) binders. These FMA TCG sets will be sold for $50 at Anime Expo, Origins, San Diego Comic-Con, and Gen Con Indy, as well as a few additional shows throughout the year. At Anime Expo, you can pick one up for at the JoyRide Entertainment booth; at Origins, you can get one at the Cardhaus Games booth. These binders are limited to one per person per day of each show and are limited to just 40 binders per day, so make sure to get yours early!

If you haven't got your Gunslinging or staff cards yet, you'll get another chance at Origins and Anime Expo. Edward "Edward Elric" Bolme and Ian "Alex Louis Armstrong" Ryan will be at Origins Game Fair, and Jason "Alphonse Elric" Winter and Trevor "Maes Hughes" McGregor will make the trek to sunny California for Anime Expo. All four staff members will have copies of all of their staff cards to give away -- thought some of them might make you have to earn them (appropriate bribes are appreciated). Each staff member will also have specific gunslinging times where you can challenge them for a Gunslinging card.

Finally, conventions are also the best place to play in both casual tournaments and against the best players the game has to offer! Both conventions have a full tournament schedule with great prizes. From the Regional Championships where you can qualify for the 2006 World Championships at Gen Con Indy and win a complete set of A Hero's Passing to Sealed-Deck tournaments to Super Deformed tournaments, we've got a little bit of everything. Pick-up Sealed, Speed Draft, and constructed tournaments are available at both shows when four or more people are ready for a tournament, space permitting, with prizes will be provided by JoyRide Entertainment.

JoyRide Entertainment and Fullmetal Alchemist TCG - it's a great way to kick off the summer!

About Fullmetal Alchemist TCG

Based on the top-rated anime series on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, JoyRide Entertainment's Fullmetal Alchemist TCG released in August and has been followed by three expansion sets. The next expansion set, Alchemists' Gate, comes out Aug. 16 and will include over 150 cards. Alchemists' Gate Pre-Releases will take place Aug. 4-6. The game is supported with tournaments, leagues, a web site, and a dedicated volunteer corps, and readers of both Scrye and InQuest voted it the best TCG released in 2005.
