Florida Supercon Announces the Supergirls of Supercon Live Action Mascot Contest

Fort Lauderdale, FL - FLORIDA SUPERCON would like to announce “The Supergirls of Supercon” live action mascot contest, which will take place on Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Florida Supercon: South Florida's Comic Book, Anime and Animation convention.

Florida Supercon is searching for a special team of live action mascots! “The Supergirls of Supercon” live action mascot contest puts a new twist on the convention mainstay of mascot contests. Entrants will enter the contest as their favorite superhero (either original design or pre-existing character). The winners will be used in our promotional materials (such as flyers, website, groups, etc.) for our next show (Nov. 30-Dec.2, 2007). Winners will receive a free lifetime pass to all Florida Supercon (and Anime Supercon) events, as well as other prizes to be announced at the event.

Potential mascots will need to pre-register with the convention (as entry is limited to 75 contestants). Entrants must be at least 16 years old. Information on the contest can be found at www.floridasupercon.com/supergirls.html

The Supergirls of Supercon” live action mascot contest is open to single individuals and teams of two (Hero and sidekick). Contestants may perform a skit of up to 3 minutes (if they so choose), plus judges will ask several questions of each contestant to find out more about them and the character they are entering as.

Florida Supercon is a multi-format convention for comic book, anime, sci-fi & animation fans taking place June 22-24, 2007 in Ft. Lauderdale. FL. The show will include celebrity guests, writers, artists, filmmakers, vendors, guests, Q&A's, film festival, parties, costume contest, giveaways, anime programming, manga, cosplay, workshops, panels and more.
