California State University Northridge (CSUN) to Host Second Annual MikomimCon, Anime Sci-Fi and Gaming Convention

Northridge, August 11th 2007- Coming to CSUN for it's second year, the MikomiCon Convention looks to be bigger and better than ever. Taking place over a three day period, Friday September 7th through Sunday September 9th. 2007.

Free to all CSUN Students, the 2nd Annual MikomiCon will feature a huge variety of events. Guests can relax in our open air plaza, the Plaza Del Sol, and enjoy live concerts, contests and exhibitions. The Plaza will feature live performances by Eyeshine, Dig Jelly and the Black Crystals, while showcasing authentic Japanese dancers, CSUN Taiko and Aikido.

Special industry guests include: actors and the director from the upcoming blockbuster release, Dragon Wars. Sit in on a panel hosted by Bang Zoom and learn the secrets of voice acting. Want to learn how to get into film school? Join local producers in their panel discussing, Film School and low budget film making.

For our gamers, XSEED Games will be on hand to promote their newest hit, Brave Story! Win a WII in our Super Smash Bros Tourney or ROCK THE STAGE during the final round of our Guitar Hero tourney. Like Mario Kart? Compete in one of Southern California's only live Mario Kart tournaments.

Love to shop? Check out our Exhibitors Hall, featuring over 20 exhibitors, selling everything from comics to authentic one-of a-kind perfumes make exclusively for the MikomiCon 2007.

Guests of Honor include: world renowned sci-fi author, Peter Beagle; Actors/Voice Actors: Johnny Yong Bosch, Kyle Hebert, Tara Platt, Yuri Lowenthal, David Vincent, KENN Scott, best known as Raphael from TMNT.

Well known artists include, Wendy Pini, the creator of Elf Quest, and the newest internet online sensation, Masque of the Red Death. Meet Chris Hazelton creator of the online comic Misfile.

Registration hours/dates are as follows: Thursday, September 6th 2007 12pm-8pm, Friday September 7th 2007 8am-8pm, Saturday September 8th 2007 8am-8pm and Sunday September 9th 8am to 2pm.
